ISO 45001:2018
Integrated Management Systems: ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
Run quality, environmental and OH&S management as one system without losing what each standard requires
Short course · 3 hours · Certificate does not expire
Most manufacturers certified to more than one standard run them as separate systems that share a building and little else: three manuals, three risk registers, three audit schedules and a change process that asks only one question. This course shows you how to run one integrated system that meets ISO 9001:2026, ISO 14001:2026 and ISO 45001:2018 together.
You will see how the harmonized structure lets shared requirements be met once: context, leadership, risks and opportunities, objectives, competence, documented information, internal audit, management review and corrective action. Then you will study where the standards diverge and why those differences must survive integration: customer focus and product conformity, environmental aspects and compliance obligations, and the ISO 45001 requirements for worker consultation and participation, hazard identification, the hierarchy of controls, management of change, contractors and emergency preparedness.
The course covers integrated risk registers that do not average serious hazards away, integrated documentation that keeps the programs OSHA regulations require, integrated objectives and change control, combined internal audits under ISO 19011, and how certification bodies plan integrated certification audits under IAF MD 11:2023, including its 20 percent cap on audit time reduction. Examples come from electronics assembly, aerospace machining and metal fabrication. You will also learn the status of the ISO 45001 revision, expected to be published in 2027.
The course closes with a 20-question examination drawn from a bank of 30. On passing you receive a PlanetISO Certificate of Completion with lifetime access to the course content and your certificate. The certificate does not expire. It is evidence of training, not a certification of your organization or of you as an auditor.
What people learn

- Design integrated processes for the shared requirements so that each standard's specific inputs and commitments are preserved.
- Identify the requirements where the standards diverge, including worker participation, the hierarchy of controls, compliance obligations and emergency preparedness.
- Build integrated risk registers, documentation, objectives, change control and competence systems without averaging away serious risks or deleting required regulatory programs.
- Plan combined internal audits and explain how certification bodies plan integrated audits under IAF MD 11:2023.
- Recognize and avoid the common pitfalls of integration.
